Makeover: Bedroom redos

Welcome to one of my favourite makeovers ever. I’ve been very quiet lately, but it is for good reason. Everyone knows that I love a good DIY project and making our two bedrooms over definitely filled the DIY craving! After new insulation, plaster, skirting boards, architrave, cornices, power points/electrics, ceiling fan, paint, carpet, bench seat, shelves and built-in robe – WE ARE ALMOST DONE. Phew!

And now it’s finally time for the big reveal.  When I say reveal I mean for the time being {of course}, because when is a makeover ever really complete? We accomplished all the big projects and the room is set, for a while at least. I’ll break it down including all the projects I did in another post for now I just want to show off some a lot of pictures!

Both rooms had a ton of potential –good light, the master wasn’t small and there was nothing too tricky about it architecturally. We chose to do a nude, white palette which felt fresh and happy and yet gender neutral. They needed a lot of storage as well, as both rooms will turn into kid rooms one day.

Little by little the look started to come together. I would be lying if I told you that it is complete, there are still things I want to get. But it has been 8 months since we started working on the room, so it’s definitely a work in progress.

Here are some sneak peeks of the bedrooms. I’m searching for the right piece of art above the bed, and can’t wait for the window treatments but really Its going to be a very simple room.

The master bedroom is supposed to be the sanctuary of the house, the place you retreat to and get rest at the end of the day. And now I finally feel like it’s coming together. Last stop is shelves and shutters :)

Dream Home

My dream home is an old Victorian house. It will have wooden floor boards, high ceilings, vintage mirrors and amazing fireplaces. Oh and maybe the odd chandelier!
